A few weeks ago, I took myself and a journal to the RISD Museum. It was definitely one of the best afternoons I’ve had in a while.
By nature, I am a wallflower; I find that I need a good amount of time to be alone with my thoughts. I love going to museums because I’m challenged to think outside of my regular scheme of thoughts. Artists have a profound way of provoking and inspiring thoughts deep within us.
I walked away from the museum this day with such an enthusiasm and inspiration on my personal work. Sometimes I get caught up trying to be something or say something a certain way, but the museum reminded me that being yourself is really the only way.
Here are some snapshots of some incredible artist’s work that really captivated my attention. The museum itself is really beautiful too, so I shot quite a few of the architecture.
If you’re in PVD I encourage you to check out the RISD Museum— It has free admission on Sundays!

I hope you can find sometime to be alone with your thoughts and see what you can discover.
